Twin Cities Con 2024
Posted by Alesia Gitter on
Twin Cities Con is a first come first serve event from what I was told. I managed to snag a table January 1st. In October we got information for load in. Since I had already attended MadEx by the same parent company, I had a pretty good idea of what it would be like. What is interesting is that the map made me think a lot more about how Galaxycon organizes things in the end. They were using different halls than what I had experienced at this convention center previously. I had been in Hall A for GeekCraft, they were using...
Anime Fusion 2024

I applied for Anime Fusion in March and I was accepted in June. Dealers room has a contract and I don't remember much about it at this point. I did also sponsor this event for $250. They advertised my business on their socials before the event.I received my load in information from them on October 11th. My kid still has swim stuff so the load-in hours only being from 2pm to 9pm are fairly restrictive. I'll bring it up at later, but I definitely like it when load in hours have more flexibility on the day before the event.Thankfully Friday hours...
Furry Migration 2024

I was told at some point in 2023 that my products would do really well at a furry convention. We have a local one in Minnesota called Furry Migration, so I opted to go ahead and try it out. I applied January 21 for dealers as the way the artist alley works is much different than other conventions. If I understand it correctly, you can show up for a table or if you apply you have to be doing commissions or something? I don't remember. I was accepted into the dealers den in May. Since I'm local I didn't have...
Madison Comic & Pop Culture Expo 2024

This event was something I signed up for rather impulsively since many of my artist friends were attending already. I grabbed a random hotel in Stoughton (which I checked out on the way back from Tekko in July) since all the Madison hotels were either booked full or very expensive. I paid for my table June 4th, so basically right after I got back from Nashville Comicon. So around July, they sent an email mentioning hotels being booked out due to Alabama football stuff which explained also why I couldn't find a hotel easily at the time I was looking. They...
Animate! & Nightmare Weekend Des Moines 2024

So this event I applied to in December 2023 and got accepted in January 2024. I was not aware at the time this was a second year event even until I got there the weekend of. Frankly, it didn't matter. This event felt so professional I never would have guessed it was only a second year event. They charge you upon being accepted. I also didn't realize until I arrived that I got an extra badge for some reason? I'll get to that later but just know the table usually comes with 2 badges and 2 chairs. Jennifer Sample of Dragon...
