Twin Cities Con 2024
Posted by Alesia Gitter on
Twin Cities Con is a first come first serve event from what I was told. I managed to snag a table January 1st. In October we got information for load in. Since I had already attended MadEx by the same parent company, I had a pretty good idea of what it would be like. What is interesting is that the map made me think a lot more about how Galaxycon organizes things in the end. They were using different halls than what I had experienced at this convention center previously. I had been in Hall A for GeekCraft, they were using...
Furry Migration 2024

I was told at some point in 2023 that my products would do really well at a furry convention. We have a local one in Minnesota called Furry Migration, so I opted to go ahead and try it out. I applied January 21 for dealers as the way the artist alley works is much different than other conventions. If I understand it correctly, you can show up for a table or if you apply you have to be doing commissions or something? I don't remember. I was accepted into the dealers den in May. Since I'm local I didn't have...
Convergence 2024

Convergence sent out their load in information a week before the event, so this is of course they day I will start my blogging about it so here are my notes before the actual load in starts. They have optional masking policies but strongly recommend people to mask up. I will bring some with me but we'll see what everything looks like since it is a 4th of July convention. I have only been to the Hyatt Regency prior to this when I was attending Anime Detour, so I will say I am a little familiar with the area at least. This...
Geek Craft Expo 2024 Minneapolis

I want to start off by saying when I registered for this event having only done regular craft fairs, I had like.. zero expectations. Actually, looking back, I paid for this event in December. Looks like I registered December 3rd, 2023. Even as of me writing this, it's still my most expensive event I have paid for thus far and that's shocking because Momocon's table price comes pretty close.Either way, I applied. I got in. Exciting stuff! Then I waited forever. Two things I'd like to note right now. First, the communication from the organizers of this event and the extent at...
Winter Solstice 2023

This event was new for them. They were trying to get something going for the local community to be more involved and I think it was really fun and nicely organized. The communication was limited but precise. There were a small number of booths available to begin with, tables and chairs were provided and they had a lot of things going on for people to do. It was even warm, so the petting zoo and s'mores were great for everyone! It took place at the Creekview Recreation Center in Minneapolis. Before the Event & SetupI left kind of late to arrive to this...
